For students who are confident they want to study in Australia but have not yet chosen a specific city or university, or who are uncertain about the application process.

Making the decision to study in Australia is exciting, but knowing where to begin can be overwhelming. With dozens of universities, multiple admissions systems, and limited guidance available in New Zealand, it is easy to feel lost before you have even started.

The General University Package is designed to give you clarity. This package provides a comprehensive information kit along with a select number of private, 45-minute online video consultations with an Orbis consultant — a current New Zealand university student in Australia who has recently navigated the exact process you are about to begin.

Your consultations will cover the following, tailored to your individual circumstances:

  • ATAR conversion guidance from NCEA, CIE, and IB, including indicative entry thresholds for common degrees across major Australian universities

  • Step-by-step tertiary application guidance for UAC (New South Wales), VTAC (Victoria), and QTAC (Queensland)

  • A calendar guide outlining key application milestones and important dates : including opening and closing dates, documentation deadlines, offer rounds, and enrolment cut-offs

  • Advice from current students on specific academic requirements and applications for competitive degrees such as Medicine, Law, and Engineering

  • A student life overview. What it is actually like to live, study, and socialise at an Australian university

  • A general overview of Australian universities, degree structures, and key differences by state and city

  • Additional questions and personalised advice relevant to your specific situation

Every consultation is one-on-one, private, and conducted by a consultant who has been in your position and understands both the New Zealand and Australian education systems intimately.

If you have further questions after the consultation, you will be provided with a PDF summary addressing any remaining queries, or book an additional consultation at an extra cost.
